Coleman Street Façade

The fully restored principal elevation to Coleman Street makes a positive contribution both to the conservation area and the street scene.  The ground floor retail retains the circulicular motif as shown in the original design (as shown in historical photos.) and a new contemporary double storey mansard with a zinc standing seam at 5thfloor.

New Nun Court Facade

One of the key aspects of the scheme is the construction of a new extension on to the existing rear courtyard area.

The new facade set back from the existing elevation thus allowing the existing facade to take precedence and providing a visual break between the retained and the new extension. The type of brick used for the extension  complements the portland stone on the principal elevation (a pale grey with matching mortar) and duly contrasts dramatically with the retained brickwork of the existing building.

When the facade reaches 6th floor level there is a marked change in the treatment of the fenestration, with a spectacular full height curtain walling.

EPC’s GET TOUGH

The changes to the European Union’s Energy Performance in Building Directive (EPBD) are slipping into legislation without the usual fanfare however this far-reaching and highly influential mandate is the backbone for improving energy efficiency and will form the basis for many pieces of UK legislation.

From April 2018 Landlord’s will be unable to offer Commercial Property over 500sm with an EPC Rating of F-G for either sale or rent. Fines of upto £150,000 will be imposed on Landlord’s not complying with the legislation.

Our Client’s have achieved EPC Rating Compliance together with Premium Rents by refurbishing commercial properties such as

  • 24 Britton Street
  • Sutton Yard,
  • Spitfire Studios
  • 50 Great Sutton Street
  • 25bVyner Street
  • 54 Ayres Street and
  • Berry Street

We look forward to assisting current and future clients to get ahead of the market as it has been suggested that these properties may form up to 35% of the existing non-domestic property portfolio!
