The Spitfire Building is located to the east of St.Pancras station and being situated on top of an existing warehouse enjoys wonderful views across the rooftops of this part of London.

The existing site was occupied by a very fine Edwardian building which was completely refurbished as part of the development. There is a small pocket park immediately adjacent to the site and a number of the new apartments enjoy balcony views over the park.

The development comprises a mixture of one and two bedroom apartments, all with ensuite bathrooms.

Despite being situated on top of an existing building this residential development is effectively new build which has been delivered to the highest environmental standards, with each apartment achieving code for Sustainable Homes Standard 4.

Each apartment is reached via a new dedicated lift and a ground floor reception.

Existing building features and textures, including sand blasted brick and hand made floor tiles, and furniture made for a quite singular entrance. The new lift travels definitely to the residential floors where the lobby is finished in a recycled parquet floor.

Each apartment is organized around a large lounge and dining area with a window wall of folding/sliding doors lettering onto large terraces in order to make the most of the panoramic views. The finishing throughout the apartments is both high quality and completely contemporary, with under floor heating throughout ensuring crisp modern detailing to all surfaces. The bathrooms are finished in a mixture of both stone flooring and glazed brick tiles and each apartment also has a utility closet containing the washing machine and laundry storage.

Elsewhere all rooms have cable and internet connections and programmable lighting.

The main building has been formed using a steel frame with the exterior walls highly insulated and finished in a purpose made bronze anodized full height panel. Similarly the roof is also highly insulated and contains an array of photovoltaic panels providing …Kw of renewable power to the development.

Given the property is located in Central London extensive cycle parking has been provided in the lower ground floor, with access via a dedicated cycle platform lift. The entrance is reached via a broad flight of steps, protected by a cantilevered glass canopy. A disabled lift is discretely incorporated into the design.

The Spitfire Building meets all the challenges in providing high quality, sustainable urban living.
